An overseas move affects work, family and savings. This page explains the limits of the site’s information and the checks to make before committing to a role or relocation.
1. General information
Jobs, guides, articles and videos on JobsAbroad Singapore provide general information. They do not replace legal, financial or immigration advice based on your circumstances. Your citizenship, passport, residence, occupation, qualifications, age, English and family can change the route available.
2. Who makes decisions
The employer decides whom to interview or hire and when a role starts. Australian and New Zealand authorities decide visas and conditions. An application, interview or another person’s result does not guarantee your outcome.
3. Our role and professional advice
JobsAbroad Singapore does not issue visas and the website is not an Australian registered migration agent. At the visa stage, we work with Australian registered migration agents and New Zealand licensed immigration advisers. For individual advice, check the professional’s authority for the destination and service. Australian registration does not by itself authorise New Zealand immigration advice.
4. Check the current official rules
Requirements, charges, salary thresholds, quotas and processing times change. A guide’s update date does not guarantee that every later change is already reflected. Before applying or paying, check the Australian Department of Home Affairs or Immigration New Zealand.
5. Singapore documents and qualifications
We do not issue passports, police certificates, qualifications, translations or professional registrations, and cannot guarantee their processing times. Follow the receiving authority’s instructions rather than assuming that every document needs certification or translation.
An ITE, polytechnic, WSQ or university award does not automatically become an Australian or New Zealand qualification or licence. Employer selection, skills or qualification assessment, occupational registration and visa approval are separate.
6. Citizenship, residence and short-term routes
Singapore citizenship and passport eligibility are different from living in Singapore or holding permanent residence. Australia’s Singapore-specific Work and Holiday route is subclass 462; New Zealand has a Singapore Work Exchange Programme. Each has its own age, education, availability and work conditions. Do not rely on an old statement that a quota is open or assume another passport qualifies under Singapore’s arrangement.
7. Pay and living costs
Read salaries in the currency and period stated, usually AUD or NZD per hour or year. Any SGD conversion is indicative and depends on exchange rates. Confirm gross pay, guaranteed hours, tax, deductions, superannuation where relevant and actual local costs before comparing incomes.
8. Before committing
- Check current visa conditions and the authenticity of the employer and offer.
- Obtain duties, location, pay and hours in writing.
- Keep supporting documents, correspondence and receipts.
- Check your notice period, insurance and any personal obligations in Singapore, including National Service or exit permits where applicable.
- Wait for the visa outcome before making commitments that are difficult to reverse.
- Reject requests to buy a job or guaranteed sponsorship.
9. External resources
Links to Skills Assessment Australia, Build AI CV, Talent Tabloid, PractiseNow, Interview Training and Seasonal Jobs Australia, social media and authorities lead to separate services with their own terms. Their content and availability do not constitute a guarantee of results from us.
10. Report an error
Email jobs@jobsabroad.sg or use the contact page with the page and the point that needs checking. Specific reports help the team review outdated or unclear information.
