Helping residents with everyday routines while noticing changes in their wellbeing is central to this Caregiver vacancy in Christchurch, New Zealand. The provider specialises in dementia care in small, homely settings. You will deliver culturally safe personal support, contribute to care planning and assist registered nurses within your scope of practice.
The appointment is full-time and permanent, with at least 30 hours a week across a 24/7 roster. Hourly pay depends on level: $23.95 at Level 1 through to $28.25 at Level 4 and above. Previous caregiving experience is preferred, with dementia experience a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, culturally safe assistance with showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication.
- Contribute to care planning and follow residents' therapy plans for dementia care.
- Observe and report residents' progress, promptly raising changes or concerns and maintaining accurate, current records.
- Assist registered nurses while remaining within your scope of practice.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Show a genuine commitment to improving elderly people's lives through kindness and empathy, alongside a passion for aged care.
- Be available for any shift across a 24/7 roster.
- Previous caregiving experience is preferred; dementia care experience is a strong advantage.
- For visa sponsorship support from this Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer (AEWV), hold a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 4+ qualification directly relevant to caregiving with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
