Helping residents living with dementia through everyday activities is the focus of this permanent full-time Caregiver role in Christchurch, New Zealand. The position involves a minimum of 30 hours per week, with personal care, resident observations and accurate records forming part of the daily work.
Care must be holistic and culturally safe, whether you are helping someone dress, supporting communication or following a therapy plan. You will contribute to care planning and support registered nurses within their scope of practice. Hourly rates are $23.95 at Level 1, $24.06 at Level 2, $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 and above.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective, culturally safe and holistic assistance with showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication.
- Help develop care plans for residents living with dementia and follow their therapy plans.
- Observe residents' progress, promptly report changes or care concerns, and maintain accurate, appropriate and current records.
- Assist registered nurses within their scope of practice.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Show a genuine commitment to improving elderly people's lives and a passion for aged care.
- Be available for any shift within a 24/7 roster.
- Previous caregiving experience is preferred; dementia care experience would be a strong advantage.
- The employer is an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer. For visa sponsorship support, applicants need a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 3 or above qualification directly relevant to caregiving with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
