A busy country hotel in Queenstown, New Zealand, needs an adaptable Chef de Partie for regular dining, weddings and functions. This award-winning operation seeks a broad culinary skill set, a minimum of 2 years in a comparable fast-paced kitchen and experience preparing Kiwi / western cuisine.
The permanent, full-time appointment starts immediately and provides an assured minimum of 30 hours per week. A 4-day roster includes nights and weekends, with a minimum commitment until mid-April 2027, the end of the summer season. You will also take responsibility for kitchen operations and service when the senior chef is absent.
Sponsorship may be available to the right candidate. Preference goes to citizens and permanent residents, or applicants with at least 6 months on their work visa.

Key Responsibilities
- Stay familiar with regular and daily menus, specials and function requirements, following recipes and instructions accurately.
- Manage kitchen operations and service efficiently when the senior chef is away.
- Use grills, microwaves and deep-fat fryers safely, controlling cooking temperatures appropriately.
- Clean preparation and service spaces each day and ensure sufficient stock of the required quality is available.
- Check every dish component for quality, correct cooking and timely delivery.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen environment and experience preparing Kiwi / western cuisine.
- A hospitality, cookery or culinary qualification is preferred.
- Work quickly without compromising safety, with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Be available for rostered weekends and nights and commit until mid-April 2027.
