Fresh, seasonal food and reliable section management are central to these Chef de Partie positions in Whangarei, New Zealand. The historic waterfront hotel is recruiting for permanent, full-time roles of 30 hours a week within a professional kitchen team.
Each chef takes responsibility for their section, from preparation and stock availability to the quality and timing of individual dish components. The work includes following the Food Control Plan, supporting junior staff and helping develop dishes when invited. Applicants with New Zealand work eligibility are preferred, but sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Stay familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions and specials, and organise your section for their requirements.
- Suggest new dishes and submit proposed menu items when invited.
- Maintain stock of the required quality and quantity, notifying the Head or Sous Chef of shortages.
- Ensure every dish component meets standards, is properly cooked and is delivered on time.
- Observe recipes and the Food Control Plan while maintaining clean preparation and service areas.
- Prepare raw materials and stock in quantities that meet demand and avoid waste.
- Help junior staff perform their tasks correctly and report maintenance issues.

- Bring experience as a Chef de Partie in a quality kitchen and enthusiasm for fresh, seasonal food with consistent standards.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability and energy.
