Guest service and floor leadership sit at the centre of this Duty Manager position at a Christchurch CBD rooftop bar. Now in its sixth year, the venue offers full table service with seasonal dishes and sharing plates from Tuesday to Sunday. Mondays accommodate presentation work, cocktail competitions, functions and staff training.
The permanent, full-time contract has a 30 hour minimum and rotating closing shifts. Evening and weekend availability is required, with Friday and Saturday evenings non negotiable. An immediate start is available, the rate is $28 - $32 per hour, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate. You will help a small team maintain service standards while overseeing costs, stock and functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome arriving guests, handle reservations and enquiries, take orders, up-sell and process payments while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Lead service by example, deliver Front of house training and maintain a positive workplace and staff culture.
- Act as the contact for functions and keep Front of house rosters, costs and overheads aligned with KPI's and targets.
- Order stock and carry out the monthly stocktake.
- Complete routine opening and closing procedures, maintain a safe, healthy environment and observe all legal obligations.
- Contribute drinks, recipes, costings and marketing input to new menu development.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years of bar experience, including high volume cocktail experience.
- A warm, welcoming personality with a positive attitude and passion for the industry.
- Drive to succeed, together with ambition to grow and develop.
- Hold a valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate; be able to commit to evenings and weekends, with Friday and Saturday evenings non negotiable.
