Finding the cause of an equipment failure and seeing the repair through are central to this Sydney Electrical Field Service Technician role. The service business supports customers using commercial catering and foodservice equipment and needs an Electrician comfortable with diagnostics beyond routine installation work.
Assignments combine visits to customer premises with testing, repairs, commissioning and technical enquiries. You will work with fellow service staff, manufacturers and suppliers to resolve faults and confirm safe operation. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible and suitably qualified applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites for scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs of commercial catering and foodservice electrical equipment.
- Investigate failures, trace electrical faults and use test instruments to assess circuits and components.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical parts, undertaking wiring and equipment modifications within the scope of your licence.
- Test repaired equipment to verify safe operation, and install and commission new commercial equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and service colleagues, including troubleshooting by telephone and email.
- Assist with warranty assessments and service investigations, managing each job from initial diagnosis through completion.
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers on technical solutions, and source and organise repair parts.
- Assist with equipment assembly and electrical preparation, recording service work, repairs and parts used accurately.
- Support workshop and warehouse activities when required.
- Represent the team professionally with customers and follow electrical safety requirements and established workplace procedures.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold a recognised electrical trade qualification and a relevant electrical licence, or be eligible to obtain the required licensing.
- Demonstrate practical electrical fault finding and diagnostics, supported by sound knowledge of circuits, wiring, controls and electrical components.
- Have a proven record of electrical equipment servicing and repairs, with experience involving commercial, industrial, appliance or electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience with commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment is advantageous.
- Be able to resolve technical faults independently, using strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
- Previous field service or mobile technician experience is highly regarded.
- Communicate professionally and provide good customer service, working effectively with technicians, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers.
- Organise and manage jobs well, with a reliable approach that prioritises safety and quality.
- Gas-related experience or licensing is advantageous; Forklift experience or a licence is advantageous.
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence or equivalent.
- Provide genuine evidence supporting your qualifications and relevant work experience.
