From patient triage to treatment room procedures, this General Practice Registered Nurse position involves varied clinical and practice support work in Newcastle, NSW. The appointment is permanent and full-time, with duties spanning chronic disease care, health assessments, immunisations and equipment maintenance.
General practice experience is preferable, and on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate. The nurse will work independently as well as alongside general practitioners and other staff in a fast-paced practice. Temporary Residence / Permanent Residence sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with patients, answer telephone calls when needed and carry out patient triage.
- Undertake chronic disease management plans and health assessments, and operate patient recalls and reminders.
- Order and control stock while maintaining the cold chain.
- Perform ECG and spirometry testing, together with IV procedures including iron infusions and venesections.
- Manage wounds and administer immunisations, including childhood immunisations.
- Assist with minor procedures and maintain the practice's equipment.
- Provide support to general practitioners and other staff as required.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold current unconditional registration with AHPRA and a CPR certificate.
- Have a current immunisations certificate or be willing to complete training.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Bring a good work ethic with organisational and time management skills.
- Be able to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- General practice experience is preferable.
