Buses, coaches, prime movers, light vehicles, cranes and small plant make this Perth Heavy Vehicle Mechanic position a varied workshop assignment. The full-time role combines scheduled fleet care with fault diagnosis, repairs and field maintenance, including work in regional and remote Western Australia.
You will inspect vehicles, determine the repair needed and work on diesel engines and associated systems. Efficient completion matters alongside safe methods and sound workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned servicing and preventative maintenance across the mixed heavy vehicle fleet.
- Inspect vehicles, establish maintenance needs and investigate mechanical faults to select suitable repairs.
- Repair diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems, replacing components where necessary.
- Assist with field maintenance and the response to vehicle breakdowns.
- Complete workshop and maintenance assignments efficiently without compromising workmanship or safety.
- Apply operational procedures and all relevant safety and compliance processes.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold a trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle, Diesel or Bus Mechanic.
- Bring relevant experience maintaining heavy vehicles or commercial fleets, such as buses, coaches, trucks or comparable machinery.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical fault diagnosis and be comfortable handling a broad vehicle mix.
- Be able to undertake work in regional and remote WA, with a dependable, adaptable and safety-conscious approach.
- Hold a current driver's licence; HR is desirable.
- Be able to satisfy the pre-employment medical requirements and drug and alcohol screening requirements.
