Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage against job sheets and confirm incoming parts are suitable, correct and free of defects.
- Remove damaged panels, frames and components, then repair, replace and refit body panels and structural parts.
- Shape, cut, straighten and weld metal using appropriate fabrication and workshop methods.
- Assist with structural repairs, frame alignment and rust treatment where required.
- Apply body filler, sand and prepare surfaces for subsequent work.
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles accurately in accordance with repair instructions, checking finished work against quality and industry standards.
- Handle customer and company vehicles carefully and keep equipment clean, safe and serviceable.
- Maintain an orderly work area and follow health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Cooperate with colleagues to support workshop efficiency and develop knowledge of current repair techniques.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have a recognised Panel Beater trade qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrate an automotive panel beating and smash repair background, with verifiable work experience and professional identity.
- Understand vehicle body repair and panel replacement techniques, with practical metal shaping, cutting, welding and fabrication skills.
- Understand structural repairs, frame alignment and rust treatment.
- Bring experience in body filler application, sanding and surface preparation, and accurately disassemble and reassemble vehicle components.
- Pay close attention to detail and maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Use tools and workshop equipment safely and responsibly.
- Communicate and work well with colleagues, showing reliability, motivation and professionalism.
- Commit to workplace safety and OH&S requirements.
