Care across pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period is the focus of this Registered Nurse / Midwife position in Bairnsdale, VIC. A regional health service needs dual-registered clinicians for its small maternity team at a baby-friendly accredited hospital, where the maternity ward is being enhanced.
The role combines continuity of care, shared practice with GP obstetricians and confident management of obstetric emergencies. Team members contribute to everyday decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain continuity of care through antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal settings in collaboration with GP obstetricians under the shared care model.
- Manage obstetric emergencies with clinical confidence.
- Participate in the small maternity team's everyday decisions.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold current AHPRA registration as both a Registered Midwife and a Registered Nurse.
- Bring at least 4 years of recent experience covering antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, with strong clinical skills and confidence throughout the pregnancy-birth continuum.
- Have a Level 3 fetal surveillance qualification; support to attain it is given if needed.
- Submit a cover letter, a resume naming two recent referees and a response addressing the key selection criteria.
