Reading guests’ needs and delivering attentive table service are central to this Waiter opening in Christchurch, New Zealand. A popular modern Asian restaurant with its own aquarium is recruiting four experienced waitstaff, encouraging personality and enjoyment at work alongside excellent customer care.
The appointment is permanent and full-time, with at least 30 hours a week and availability needed for nights, weekends and the busy summer months. Service follows the restaurant’s selling system, from explaining menu choices to handling orders and payments. As an approved accredited employer, the restaurant can support sponsorship and assist with the immigration process if required.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests positively, explain the menu and offerings, and promote products and services within restaurant policies.
- Take food and beverage orders, enter them through the POS and deliver orders to tables.
- Clear and reset tables while keeping the restaurant clean.
- Process cash and electronic payments.
- Apply NZ liquor laws and coordinate with guests and management to enforce licensing requirements.
- Participate in regular in-house food, beverage and service training, completing the associated modules.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bring at least six months of experience in a comparable role, or hold a Level 2 or 3 Diploma qualification.
- Have good knowledge of NZ liquor laws and be available for nights, weekends and the busy summer months.
- Be motivated to work hard and learn the restaurant’s offerings and service standards.
