Based in Burnie, TAS, the bakery needs hands-on expertise in pastry, fillings, ice cream and custards. Consistent results and careful presentation matter alongside the ability to contribute ideas for recipes, seasonal specials and menu development.
The position can be full-time or part-time. You will coordinate daily production with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues, manage ingredients and maintain food hygiene. Visa sponsorship is available for the right qualified candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Make sweet and savoury pies from scratch, preparing pastry and fillings and completing the finishing work.
- Produce ice cream, custards and other dairy-based creamery items to consistent standards of quality and presentation.
- Rotate stock, order ingredients and maintain kitchen cleanliness while observing food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Develop or improve recipes and seasonal specials where appropriate.
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Show proven experience as a baker, pastry chef or in a similar position, particularly making pies and creamery or dairy products.
- Have strong foundations in pastry, including dough, lamination and blind baking, and understand dairy-based dessert preparation and food safety requirements.
- Be reliable and organised, with availability for early morning shifts.
- Bring genuine enthusiasm for baking and close attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications, such as food safety handling, are a plus.
