A full-time Barber opening in Burnie, TAS, combines haircutting, styling and beard care in an established walk-in shop. The annual salary range is $80,000 - $85,000. An experienced barber is sought to provide professional service from the initial consultation through to the finished cut.
The work covers traditional and contemporary styles, with scissors, clippers and razors used to meet customers' preferences. Hygiene, grooming advice and friendly customer service are part of the daily role. Key Responsibilities
- Discuss each customer's haircut, styling and grooming preferences before carrying out the service.
- Cut and style with scissors, clippers and razors, delivering fades, tapered cuts and traditional or contemporary looks.
- Trim and shape moustaches and beards and provide shaving services.
- Recommend suitable products and explain hair care and grooming.
- Clean and disinfect workstations, tools and equipment while maintaining workplace hygiene and safety.
- Take payments and give customers friendly, professional service.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have a Certificate III in Barbering or Hairdressing, an equivalent qualification, or substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrate experience as a barber, with strong scissor cutting, clipper cutting, fade and beard grooming skills.
- Communicate clearly and serve customers well, working independently while contributing to the team.
- Maintain reliable work habits and professional presentation, with availability for a roster that includes weekends.
