Workshop fabrication and remote assignments form the scope of this full-time Boilermaker position in Brisbane, QLD. You will turn steel sections and plates into finished work that meets customer specifications, combining welding technique with careful preparation and inspection. Line boring is included when required.
Working alongside the leading hand and fabrication team, you will contribute to industrial projects and demonstrate practical methods to apprentices. The schedule requires availability from Monday to Saturday, with occasional overtime. Sponsorship is available to candidates with suitable qualifications and experience. Evidence of trade training and previous employment is part of assessing your suitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Select and use appropriate equipment for steel fabrication and boilermaking.
- Prepare plates and sections by cutting, bending and shaping them before welding to the specified design.
- Inspect completed fabrication against customer requirements and maintain quality assurance throughout the work.
- Coordinate production and site activities with the leading hand and fabrication colleagues.
- Follow established safety procedures during both independent tasks and team assignments.
- Show apprentices the practical techniques and methods used in the trade.
- Undertake line boring as needed and adapt your work between workshop facilities and remote locations.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold a recognised boilermaking trade qualification or an equivalent overseas award.
- Demonstrate hands-on boilermaking and steel fabrication experience gained in manufacturing, mining or heavy industry.
- Show practical competence in welding and metal fabrication; previous line boring experience is highly regarded.
- Provide supporting evidence of trade qualifications and employment experience.
- Have a strong understanding of quality requirements and workplace safety.
- Be available Monday to Saturday and for occasional overtime, with willingness to undertake remote-site assignments when required.
- Be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical.
- Be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.
