Specialist Indian cooking experience is central to this full-time Chef opportunity in Melbourne. The kitchen is recruiting Curry Chefs, Tandoor Chefs, South Indian Chefs and Indian Cuisine Cooks whose practical skills translate into consistent commercial service.
Work begins with organised preparation and continues through busy service, where flavour, texture and presentation must remain dependable. You will follow established recipes and hygiene practices, coordinate with colleagues and support catering or event kitchens when required. The role calls for a sound understanding of Indian ingredients as well as reliable performance under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Indian food for commercial service using curry, tandoor and South Indian cooking techniques.
- Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, food quality and presentation while following set recipes and preparation methods.
- Complete ingredient preparation before service and manage cooking tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Coordinate food service with kitchen colleagues and assist catering and event operations when required.
- Apply food safety and kitchen hygiene practices, keeping your station clean, organised and professional.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrate proven commercial Indian cuisine experience and expertise in curry, tandoor or South Indian cooking.
- Have strong practical knowledge of Indian ingredients and methods, with the ability to deliver high-quality dishes consistently.
- Bring experience from a busy restaurant, catering or events kitchen and maintain quality when working under pressure.
- Understand food safety and kitchen hygiene standards well.
- Show dependable attendance, a strong professional work ethic and effective teamwork and communication.
- Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous.
- Candidates must meet the applicable requirements for sponsorship.
