Kitchen experience at different levels is welcome in this full-time Chef recruitment on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. An expanding hospitality operation is seeking apprentices, junior Chefs, qualified Chefs and senior Chefs, with responsibilities suited to the level of the position.
Work spans ingredient preparation, section cooking and the coordination needed to keep service running smoothly. Consistent food presentation, safe preparation and clear communication matter throughout. Experienced team members also contribute to junior staff development and improvements in kitchen performance. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, maintain suitable stock quantities and produce food across different kitchen sections.
- Take responsibility for an assigned section when required and meet dish quality and presentation standards.
- Apply established recipes, kitchen systems and service procedures, maintaining food safety and hygiene at all times.
- Work efficiently during busy periods and help coordinate kitchen activity.
- Communicate clearly with Chefs and restaurant colleagues to support service.
- Assist with the training and development of junior staff.
- Contribute ideas that improve food quality and the way the kitchen performs.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial cookery experience is preferred; positions suit apprentices, junior Chefs, qualified Chefs and senior Chefs.
- Qualifications are desirable depending on the position level.
- Have strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations, with a commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Understand food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Handle pressure while managing several tasks.
- Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic, and work collaboratively in a professional kitchen.
- Leadership skills are preferred for experienced and senior-level applicants.
