A bar and grill on the Sunshine Coast, QLD is recruiting an experienced full-time Chef for lunch, dinner and function service. Its Western cuisine incorporates Asian fusion influences, drawing on the local region and the cultural backgrounds of an international kitchen team.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, taking responsibility for an assigned section while contributing to preparation, presentation and timely service. The position also involves menu work, stock management and helping colleagues develop their kitchen skills. Visa sponsorship opportunities are available for suitable eligible applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Run your allocated kitchen section, preparing, cooking, plating and garnishing dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Check incoming deliveries and account for them according to business procedures.
- Control inventory through stock rotation and waste reduction, while monitoring portions, food costs and quality.
- Keep kitchen spaces clean and organised, meeting food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Contribute to menu development, recipe preparation and costing alongside the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
- Organise preparation and service to deliver food promptly during busy periods.
- Train, mentor and support other members of the kitchen team.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have a relevant culinary qualification or at least five years of full-time experience in a comparable kitchen environment.
- Work confidently in grill, pans, larder, dessert and pizza sections.
- Bring a strong passion for flavour, food quality and presentation.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork while multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Take a proactive approach to solving problems and managing time, with a reliable, punctual and professional work ethic.
- Be flexible for a seven-day roster covering weekends, school holidays and split shifts.
