Residents' dietary needs guide the cooking in this Sydney, NSW Chef role. Working in aged-care catering, you will prepare nutritious meals with consistent presentation, adapting food textures and individual diets while helping bring variety to the menu. The position is permanent and full-time, with a Sunday to Thursday roster.
Alongside daily cooking, you will coordinate with care and kitchen colleagues, monitor supplies and help control waste and food costs. South American cooking experience is welcomed, and the work includes culturally appropriate menu options and modified food prepared to IDDSI requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious resident meals, maintaining consistent food quality and presentation during busy kitchen periods.
- Adjust dishes for individual dietary needs and textures, applying IDDSI requirements to modified food.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene while coordinating daily work with kitchen and care colleagues.
- Contribute to menu preparation and planning, including culturally appropriate choices that provide variety.
- Monitor stock, assist with ordering and control food costs while reducing avoidable waste.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial Chef experience with relevant cooking qualifications and a strong interest in preparing quality food.
- South American cuisine experience is preferred; knowledge of Brazilian, Peruvian, Colombian, Argentinian or Chilean cuisine is advantageous.
- Experience producing food in high volumes and understanding of dietary requirements.
- Strong food safety and hygiene practices, supported by good teamwork and communication skills.
- Aged-care experience is desirable, and IDDSI experience is desirable.
- Australian working rights or eligibility for sponsorship are required.
