Workshop repairs and service calls both form part of this full-time Forklift Service Engineer position in Sydney, New South Wales. You will maintain forklifts and associated material handling equipment, combining mechanical knowledge with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting to keep machines safe and dependable.
The service operation assesses candidates through verified experience, technical understanding and diagnostic capability. Work includes identifying faults, recommending repairs, testing equipment and communicating clearly with customers. Accurate service records and an orderly working environment are part of that responsibility, alongside learning with experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair and maintain forklifts and related material handling machinery in the workshop and at customers' premises.
- Investigate faults, diagnose their causes and implement repairs; test and adjust equipment for safe, efficient operation.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to support equipment productivity and reliability.
- Assess machine condition and give accurate repair recommendations, responding promptly and professionally to customers' technical needs.
- Record inspections, repairs and completed work accurately in service documentation.
- Comply with Australian workplace health and safety requirements and keep tools, equipment and working areas safe and organised.
- Work with technicians, service colleagues and customers to achieve effective outcomes, representing the organisation through workmanship and professional communication.
- Develop technical and product knowledge through continuing training, workplace learning and mentoring.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrate experience as a Forklift Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Technician or in a similar technical position.
- Hold a relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment or a related discipline, supported by practical industry experience.
- Minimum three years of hands-on experience is required in servicing, repairing or maintaining forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Have strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and technical systems, including fault diagnosis and preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Communicate effectively in English with customers and colleagues, with a proven commitment to quality workmanship, workplace safety and professional standards.
- Be able to provide verified employment history, qualifications and evidence supporting your skills.
- Be willing to move to Australia and establish a long-term career there, with motivation to contribute your technical skills and industry experience professionally.
- Be able to meet applicable Australian visa sponsorship and skills assessment requirements; visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
