Client consultation and technical execution come together in this full-time Melbourne Hairdresser vacancy. This is a Senior Hairdresser position: the salon needs someone who can understand individual preferences, deliver accomplished cuts and colour work, and maintain professional relationships that encourage clients to return.
Work ranges from everyday hair care to chemical treatments and occasion styling. You will contribute to a cooperative salon while maintaining an organised workstation and consistent standards of workmanship. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Discuss clients’ hair needs and preferences, then advise on suitable care routines and professional products.
- Use scissors, thinning scissors and clippers for precision cutting, including men’s haircuts and styling.
- Carry out colouring, highlights, chemical straightening and other applicable treatments, together with shampooing, conditioning and scalp preparation.
- Create personalised looks for formal occasions, events and professional sessions, incorporating braiding or hair pieces when needed.
- Maintain technical and presentation standards, keeping the workstation hygienic and orderly.
- Develop professional client relationships and repeat clientele while cooperating with the salon team.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bring professional hairdressing experience supported by demonstrable practical skills; maximum of 5 years’ industry experience.
- Show strong cutting, colouring and styling ability, including confidence with men’s and women’s haircuts.
- Have hands-on highlighting and chemical treatment experience and competence in event and occasion styling.
- Understand hair care and product recommendations, supported by strong consultation and communication skills.
- Be reliable, punctual and professionally presented, with a friendly, confident customer-service manner.
- Work effectively with colleagues and demonstrate commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Approach working hours flexibly.
