A neighbourhood bar preparing to open in Sydney, NSW is recruiting a Head Chef to establish and lead its kitchen. The venue will seat 90 and specialise in steak and seafood, with an open kitchen, an energetic bar and a casual setting near the beach.
The opening menu remains under development. Grilled steaks, seafood and sauces produced in-house will anchor it, and the Head Chef will have meaningful creative input into the final dishes as well as responsibility for building the brigade and its systems. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations
- Provide leadership for the kitchen team
- Finalise and further develop the launch menu
- Recruit and train a high-performing brigade, and keep it motivated
- Manage ordering, food cost, preparation systems and supplier relationships
- Maintain quality, consistency and efficiency throughout service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef, including 5+ years in fast-paced venues
- Passion for cooking and for premium local ingredients
- Leadership that motivates, mentors and builds team culture, with strong financial and operational acumen
- Able to start immediately and take on a ground-up build
