A contractor with ongoing projects needs a skilled Commercial Landscaper who can demonstrate practical trade ability and take responsibility for the quality of completed work.
You will combine hard landscaping, drainage and irrigation with turfing and planting, working with supervisors and colleagues to meet construction schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare worksites through excavation and groundworks, then complete accurate set-out, levelling and base preparation.
- Install plants and turf and apply mulch as part of commercial soft landscaping.
- Construct paving, edging, minor concrete features, retaining walls and related landscape structures.
- Install irrigation and drainage systems and undertake other hard and soft landscaping tasks on commercial sites.
- Operate landscaping plant, machinery and equipment safely, following workplace health and safety procedures throughout.
- Maintain consistent workmanship and attention to detail, keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean and organised.
- Complete work to project schedules and construction targets.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, contributing to the team and working independently when needed.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have a minimum 2 years' proven landscape construction experience, with sound commercial landscaping knowledge and demonstrable hands-on skills.
- A relevant formal landscaping qualification is advantageous.
- Be punctual, reliable and committed, with a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- A current full driver's licence is essential, and your own reliable transport is essential.
- An MR driver's licence is advantageous; a current White Card is essential.
- Permanent Australian work rights are preferred. Temporary residents need not apply.
- Hold a Working with Children Card (OCHRE) or be willing to obtain one; DCAC for Robertson Barracks is advantageous.
- Be physically capable of outdoor landscape construction duties.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team, with an interest in a stable, long-term position.
