These full-time Maintenance Fitter and Electrical Fitter Mechanic openings in Toowoomba, QLD involve a large manufacturing plant, with mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting and reliability improvements across its equipment.
Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates already based in Australia. The roster includes rotating 12-hour shifts across days, nights and weekends. You will work with production colleagues, investigate recurring failures and support shutdown projects while following electrical, food safety and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment through component repairs, replacement and maintenance.
- Complete preventative maintenance and routine servicing, inspecting production machinery for emerging problems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automated equipment to return machinery to operation.
- Maintain PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems, using VSDs and associated electrical controls where required.
- Investigate repeat failures and contribute practical improvements to equipment reliability.
- Support shutdown programmes and maintenance projects in cooperation with production teams to reduce downtime.
- Keep manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Follow workplace health, electrical, food safety and quality procedures while improving maintenance practices.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hold a recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner.
- For electrical positions, hold a Certificate III Electrical or Electrical Fitter Mechanic qualification.
- Demonstrate maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, with a minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience for electrical applicants.
- Bring strong practical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Have experience of preventative maintenance programmes and maintaining automated production machinery.
- Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC experience is preferred; electrical applicants need VSD experience.
- Hold a current unrestricted Class C driver's licence.
- A High Risk Electrical Work Licence is desirable.
- Experience using MEX or a similar maintenance management system is desirable.
- Show a strong commitment to safe work and quality workmanship.
- Communicate effectively with production and maintenance colleagues, working independently while contributing to the team.
- Be available for rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
