From breakfast service to late dining, this Cairns Restaurant Supervisor position puts you in charge of the floor and guest experience. The venue is a family-run, open-air Italian trattoria serving homestyle dishes seven days a week, with wine knowledge an important part of service.
You will coordinate shifts, coach colleagues and become involved in the operational side of the restaurant, with a direct route into management for the right person. This role requires applicants already in Australia with full Australian working rights. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate reservations and table flow while leading floor service in close contact with the kitchen.
- Coach colleagues during service and uphold the expected guest service standards.
- Advise guests on wines and food matches, and develop the team’s wine knowledge.
- Complete closing duties, including cash-up and daily checklists; manage rostering, staff training, stock and ordering as management skills develop.
- Build recognition of regular guests by name and provide a welcoming experience that encourages new guests to return.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Supervisory or senior floor experience in a busy restaurant of a high standard, ideally 2+ years.
- Solid wine knowledge, confidence discussing regions, styles and food pairings, and enthusiasm for further learning.
- A clear understanding of great service and the ability to maintain it during busy evenings.
- A current Queensland RSA, with RMLV or willingness to complete it while progressing towards management.
- Availability for a seven-day roster including nights, weekends and public holidays, with full Australian working rights.
