Keeping a high-volume café kitchen organised takes confident leadership as well as practical cooking experience. This full-time Sous Chef opening on the Gold Coast, QLD, Australia places you alongside the Head Chef and another Sous Chef, sharing responsibility for preparation, service and kitchen standards. The salary is $80,000 - $85,000 per year.
An experienced Sous Chef or a strong senior chef ready for greater responsibility would suit the position. You will guide colleagues during busy periods and take charge of the kitchen when needed. The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right candidate, who must have experience in a similar role and pass a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily kitchen work with the Head Chef and fellow Sous Chef, arranging preparation and sections.
- Guide and support the team through busy services, assuming responsibility for the kitchen when required.
- Check that food remains consistent in quality and presentation.
- Maintain food safety procedures, cleanliness and wider kitchen standards.
- Train and support colleagues while developing an organised, positive and professional working culture.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Have strong experience in a high-volume café or comparable busy kitchen.
- Bring previous experience as a Sous Chef, senior chef or kitchen supervisor, with confidence directing staff and running busy services.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
- Be reliable, remain calm when pressure builds and willingly take ownership of the work.
- Work hands-on beside colleagues and understand food quality and consistency well.
- Be available for 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday.
