Fresh pasta expertise is a key part of this full-time Sous Chef opening in Melbourne, VIC. An established Italian dining venue is seeking either an experienced Sous Chef or a senior Chef de Partie who can demonstrate readiness for greater responsibility.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help organise preparation, guide junior colleagues and maintain consistent dishes through busy services. The remit includes contributing to specials and menus, covering kitchen sections and taking charge when the Head Chef is absent. Eligible applicants can access visa sponsorship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily kitchen activity with the Head Chef and lead operations during their absence.
- Plan preparation and allocate staff duties, adjusting workflow through peak service periods.
- Supervise fresh pasta preparation and service, maintaining consistent cooking and presentation standards.
- Assist with junior staff recruitment, training and development.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and specials, and cover other kitchen sections as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised kitchen while supporting ingredient and stock management.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bring 2–3 years of Sous Chef experience, or demonstrate proven readiness to advance from a senior Chef de Partie position.
- Have strong skills in preparing fresh pasta and a firm commitment to food quality and consistency.
- Have experience supervising or supporting junior chefs, supported by strong leadership and communication skills.
- Be able to manage a fast-paced kitchen with effective organisation and delegation.
- Demonstrate a high standard of reliability and professionalism.
