Accurate edge work and consistent finishes define this Sydney, NSW, Stonemason position. Fabricate natural and engineered/manufactured stone into kitchen benchtops and other applications in a busy operation using 100% wet-processing / water-fed fabrication.
The full-time, permanent appointment is long term, with an immediate start available. Hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; overtime and Saturday work are available.
Employer-sponsored visa opportunities may be available to suitably qualified and experienced international candidates, subject to the applicant and position satisfying all Australian Government visa, skills, experience, English language and other eligibility requirements. Overseas applicants and temporary visa holders already in Australia are welcome. Key Responsibilities
- Turn natural and manufactured stone into kitchen benchtops and other stone products, working from plans, drawings and measurements.
- Cut and shape stone, then polish and finish it to a high standard.
- Laminate and mitre edges, producing clean, high-quality joins and finished edges.
- Complete production work efficiently and accurately while maintaining careful workmanship and attention to detail.
- Apply workplace health and safety procedures and the established company systems.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bring demonstrated experience in stonemasonry and stone fabrication involving both natural and manufactured stone.
- Be confident carrying out laminating, mitring, polishing and finishing, with consistently high-quality results.
- Be able to interpret plans and drawings.
- Work effectively on your own and within a team, with strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Be reliable and hardworking, maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced workplace.
- Have the physical capability to perform the work.
- Hold a current driver's licence and a White Card, or be willing to obtain the White Card.
- A forklift licence is desirable: advantageous but not essential.
- 3+ years' relevant industry experience is preferred; suitably skilled candidates with less experience will also be considered.
